What is a gas fireplace service?
A gas fireplace still needs a yearly service visit: burner, pilot and thermocouple or thermopile cleaned and tested, the glass pulled and resealed on a direct-vent unit, the logs put back in the positions the maker specifies, and the venting and gaskets checked. Soot on the glass or logs out of position is a combustion fault, not a cleaning problem.
